So this will be the first time that I have time apart from my wife. No, it’s not drama, just a vacation, for her. She’s off in sunny Florida visiting her father and other family members. Meanwhile, I will be in New York, working and slowly renovating and making my house over with a new paint job and minor cosmetic work. I’m proud to see how much my mother and, sister-in-law along with myself got done. Besides that, 2 weeks without my wife will be driving me crazy. We’ve never been separated since we first got married last year.
It’s very weird, and lonely not having your best friend by your side. Plus she was the cook, and that is an endeavor I haven’t really conquered. I’m a master at breakfast, but to cook a full fledged meal for myself intimidated me. Until now. I managed to whip out some ribs today that came pretty good. I didn’t under cook, burn, over season or mess up. I accomplished making some pretty awesome ribs, if I may say so myself, not meaning to brag. Lol.
I feel for my wife though. She doesn’t seem to be enjoying the trip. She went by train, which took her 24 hours, and I think so far was the highlight of the trip. She was getting nibbled on by fleas from the family dog which reminds her of the 2 bed bug scares we had in the house. She quivers at the idea of biting bugs altogether like bed bugs fleas AND mosquitoes. Hopefully the trip gets better for her.
On the plus side of staying in New York, I managed to get more hours at work, which is great for us. Also, our rent has been reduced. Good things have been happening, thank God. God has blessed me very well. My baby is healthily gestating, my home is pulling together, and my wife stands by side, waiting to face the next day together.
